Work In Progress operates a robust and fully Cisco Powered Network designed to deliver dependable connectivity and reliable hosting services. Our infrastructure supports both customer and intra-hosting operations, built with enterprise-grade hardware and proven software for maximum uptime.

Network Infrastructure

Our network core is based entirely on Cisco routing and switching platforms, ensuring carrier-grade performance and stability. Each component plays a key role in maintaining uptime and optimizing internal and customer traffic flow.

Role Model Purpose
Edge Router Cisco Pix 515e Acts as the network's firewall and router with a 10 Mbps symmetrical connection to the internet
Core/Aggregation Switch Cisco Catalyst 3550-12G Backbone and aggregation switching
Distribution Switch Cisco Catalyst 3524-PWR Intermediate switching for access layer connectivity, with Inline Power Delivery
Access Server Cisco 2611XM Handles dial-in and remote administrative access

Internal Hosting Environment

Our hosting environment is fully powered by Windows Server 2003. All services including Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, fax, and customer-facing web and mail systems operate on this unified platform. This setup ensures reliable performance, streamlined management, and consistent security across both internal operations and client services.

  • Customer Segment: Dedicated to external-facing hosting and web services.
  • ISP Segment: Internal Windows Server 2003 network for ISP operations.
  • Backup Systems: Regular backups using NTBackup.

Connectivity

The Work In Progress backbone utilizes redundant uplinks and Cisco Powered routing to ensure continuous Internet access across all environments. The network is engineered for high availability, low latency, and smooth operation under varying traffic loads.
